Who is Reon Schutte?
Biography:
Reon Schutte is an international acclaimed lecturer who shares the epic story of his life, starting as an elite soldier of the South African Special Forces to almost 13 years of hell on the infamous maximum security prison of Chikirubi, Zimbaue, as a political prisoner since 1992 until his release in 2004.
Although his life, chronologically speaking, started in 1961 with his born in Brakpan, South Africa, he considers that his life truly began in the most unexpected of places: behind a metal door in his cell in Chikuribi, a 48 square meters windowless room, the same one he shared with another 50 prisoners all day long.
While in captivity inside the prison that, Amnesty International declares as one of the most violent and inhuman in the world, Reon survived with only half bowl of rice and cabbage per day. He endured tortures and beat ups everyday… but he learned to forgive, to accept the circumstances, and the concept of giving up without losing faith, humility, and the ability to re-program his own mind with no limitations to achieve true freedom.
